| For more than two decades, Alex has launched new businesses, built global consumer brands and led high performance teams as an entrepreneur and executive at Yes Health, PayPal, Safeway and Nestlé. But his very first job was jumping out of airplanes as a NATO paratrooper protecting Europe’s borders. Yes Health was inspired by a doctor’s unexpected news during a routine visit in 2013. Alex learned he had prediabetes and was potentially on his way to a life reliant on medication. He was determined to make healthy changes, but knew he’d need support. He wanted a program that was fun and motivating. It also needed to match his on-the-go lifestyle. When he didn’t find what he was looking for—and also discovered that 88 million other people were in his same boat—he decided to start his own. Alex handpicked a team of experts in medicine, technology and consumer products to help him create a revolutionary, all-mobile diabetes prevention program. The Center for Disease Control (CDC) awarded Yes Health its highest level of recognition certifying it as a quality, evidence-based solution. Large health plans, including Blue Shield of California, have successfully deployed Yes Health’s diabetes prevention and weight loss programs to help thousands of members prevent diabetes and maintain a healthy weight. When he’s not helping people change their lives and prevent chronic conditions, Alex rides his mountain bike, hikes with his wife and tries to be the best dad possible to his three children. |
