Michael Klotz

Michael is a Healthcare IT consultant, innovator, 3x entrepreneur and seasoned executive. His current consulting work is in streamlining healthcare data operations for payers as well as product and go-to-market strategy for HIT vendors with a special focus on the rapidly progressing 'digital transformation' that will affect many stakeholders in US healthcare.

Michael started his HIT journey in 2008. After selling his first company, an IT consulting company, he recognized the potential for innovation and automation in Medical Records Review (MRR) started Health Data Vision (now Reveleer). He transformed it from a tech-enabled services company into a SaaS company, raised $10M in venture capital and led the company through aggressive early-stage growth.

In 2017, Michael left his company to start his 2nd consulting firm and set out to systematically explore the ‘clinical data ecosystem’ – exactly how clinical data flows between providers, payers, patients and other stakeholders.

In addition to ongoing research, he has been leading strategic consulting engagements with a large EMR company, patient-facing app companies, HIT vendors and health plans. He has also been very closely engaged with NCQA, HL7 and ONC to understand exactly how each organization would shape policy, standards and technology towards a future with digital quality measures and standardized interoperability.

Over the last 20, Michael has founded and built three successful companies. He continues to apply his entrepreneurial experience working with startups and a private equity company to help launch HIT companies with a meaningful impact on improving the delivery of healthcare while lowering costs.

Before becoming an entrepreneur, Michael implemented ERP and ecommerce solutions with an emphasis on process & workflow automation and optimization.

He is a frequent speaker at industry events and a guest lecturer at the Pepperdine Graziadio Graduate School of Business. Michael holds a business degree from USC and a degree in Electrical Engineering from the HTL Innsbruck in his native Austria.
