Christopher J. Ausura

Christopher Ausura is the Chief of Special Projects for the Health Equity Institute at the Rhode Island Department of Health. In his role, Chris leads the implementation of the Health Equity Zone initiative and serves as the Department’s liaison to multiple State program and policy initiatives to improve health equity and the social and environmental determinants of health, including supporting Rhode Island’s Executive Office of Health and Human Services’ Health System Transformation Project efforts to incorporate social and environmental determinants of health and foster community clinical linkages in the HSTP Project. He has been with the Department since 2011 and brings to his role a diverse background of prior experience in banking, hospitality and construction.
He holds a dual Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science and Culinary Nutrition from Johnson & Wales University.
