Tony Berkley serves as Vice President for Impact & Responsible Investments at Prudential Financial, Inc. He manages a $200 million+ portfolio of market-rate, purpose-driven investments concentrated in the US middle market, with a thematic focus on B Corps and Community Development Finance Institutions. Previously, he oversaw operations and communications for the Office of Corporate Social Responsibility, a unit that includes the impact investing team. Under his leadership Prudential raised its profile in impact investing, receiving significant earned media attention from The Economist, The New York Times, Politico, and The Chronicle of Philanthropy among others.



Tony is a recognized thought leader with 15+ years of strategic philanthropic and impact investing experience. At the W. K. Kellogg Foundation from 2003-2014 he served in a variety of roles including as Director of Mission Driven Investments and as Deputy Director for Education and Learning, the largest grant-making team in the Foundation at the time.



Tony has a PhD in Anthropology from the U of Chicago (1998) and was a Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan (1998-2000).
