Amit Kale MD, MHA

Amit is a physician leader with extensive experience in healthcare payor, provider, and technology companies.

Amit serves as Director of Healthcare Transformation at Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey. He is responsible for designing and executing innovative clinical transformation & community healthcare programs across Horizon’s health system partners.

Amit is the architect of Horizon’s statewide Social Determinants of Health program, which is unique in its approach of a payor/provider collaborative model utilizing Community Health Workers and Personal Health Assistants. He has designed observational studies in Genomics/Proteomics and facilitated care delivery transformation in Supportive Care and Oncology.

Amit has led multiple initiatives related to Population Health, Value Based Care, Care Management Redesign and Operating Model Transformation.

Prior to working at Horizon BCBSNJ, Amit worked for 7 years in management consulting and healthcare startups in the payor, provider, and financial services industry. Amit received his medical degree from University of Mumbai and his master’s degree in health administration from Cornell University.
