| Dr. Neema Stephens is a native Texan and board certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology. She completed medical school and Nephrology fellowship training at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. She completed additional fellowship training in Transplant Nephrology at Emory University School of Medicine. Prior to joining Cigna, she worked in the academic setting as a transplant nephrologist at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio. She joined Cigna 5 years ago, and has worked in utilization management with special focus on pharmacy initiatives, chronic kidney disease and transplant case management programs. Dr. Stephens has a special interest in addressing health disparities and social determinants of health. She is the National Medical Director for Health Equity at Cigna. She is based in Houston, TX, where she lives with her husband, Gary, and three young children. |
