Executive Director, eBright Health ACO/ChristianaCare

Daniel J. Elliott, M.D., MSCE, FACP FAAP is the Executive Director of the eBrightHealth Accountable Care Organization (EBH ACO), and Senior Medical Director for Value-Based Programs and Network Performance at ChristianaCare. In this role, Dr. Elliott is responsible for overseeing strategic, clinical, and financial performance for EBH ACO, a Medicare-Shared Savings Program including 4 health systems and multiple private practice and Federally-qualified health centers with >40,000 Medicare beneficiaries.

Prior to his current role, he served as Medical Director for Christiana Care Quality Partners (CCQP), a network of physicians and other health care providers working to improve the quality and value of medical care in Delaware. Prior to serving with CCQP, Dr. Elliott served as the Associate Chair for Research and Scholarly Activity in the Christiana Care Department of Medicine. He was the Project Co-Director and Director of Evaluation for “Bridging the Divides,” which was funded by a $10M Innovation Award from the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation to develop Care Management services supported by Information Technology to improve the quality and cost of care for patients following coronary revascularization. The program developed through that grant serves as an important support for current Population Health efforts across Delaware and the region, and was awarded the John Eisenberg Award for Quality and Safety.

Dr. Elliott earned a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from Duke University, where he was a Howard Hughes Research Fellow. He earned his Medical Degree at Jefferson Medical College as a Delaware Institute for Medical Education and Research Scholar. He then completed residency training in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at Christiana Care Health System and the Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children. He served as Chief Resident in Internal Medicine at Christiana Care. He subsequently completed a fellowship in the Generalist Scholars Program in the Division of General Internal Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, during which he earned a Master’s Degree in Clinical Epidemiology with a concentration in Outcomes Research from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.

In addition to his work with EBH ACO, Dr. Elliott cares for patients as a primary care physician, is currently the Governor of the Delaware Chapter of the American College of Physicians and previously served on the Evidence-Based Medicine Task Force for the Society of General Internal Medicine.
