System Vice President Value Based Clinical Strategy, Population Health, CommonSpirit Health®

Dr. Gerdes is Pop Health System VP Value Based Clinical Strategy for CommonSpirit Health, supporting ACOs, CINs, BPCI-A, CMMI specialty programs and cross-continuum care coordination. CommonSpirit Health operates across 21 states and is responsible for 2.6 million patients in value-based arrangements.

Dr. Gerdes has also served as Executive Medical Director Clinical Effectiveness for John Muir Health and VP CMO Accountable Care Strategy with the Methodist Health System in Dallas, Texas. Responsibilities included quality, safety, care coordination, and value-based care. Dr. Gerdes taught residents in the John Muir Health FM residency program and served as Designated Institutional Official for GME. Dr. Gerdes also has experience with employer based wellness programs, telehealth programs, and patient-centered medical home model implementation.

Dr. Gerdes has served as President of the Texas Academy of Family Physicians, Chair of the AAFP Commission on Quality and Practice, and board member of Integrated Healthcare Association. Dr. Gerdes earned a B.S. in Communications at Northwestern University, M.D. at Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine in Chicago. She is a fellow of the AAFP and certified in Healthcare Quality and Management.
