Cheryl Dodds MD

Medical Director, Atrium Health

Dr. Dodds was born in Columbia SC. She attended Davidson College and then completed medical school at the University of South Carolina on full scholarship from the Fullerton Foundation. She completed two years of OB/GYN residence at Palmetto Health and transferred into Psychiatric Residency at William S Hall Institute. She completed her General Psychiatry Residency and Child and Adolescent Fellowship. She left residency to practice psychiatry in private practice and later oversaw Vista Psychiatry, a private psychiatric practice. She became Medical Director for Three Rivers Behavioral Health. She also completed intensive training in DBT and organized and ran Saluda Cove, a DBT immersion Residential Program for adolescents. Subsequently, she joined Atrium Health and has been Medical Director of Carolinas Psychiatry and Behavioral Health as well as Medical Director of Mindy Ellen Levine Behavioral Health Center. Her passions include Maternal Mental Health and Maternal Drug and Alcohol Addiction as well as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and suicide prevention. At the end of the day, she enjoys time with her family, yoga and meditation.
