Sharon Williams is an enterprising leader in both the health care and community-based services (CBO) industries. Her broad experience provides a unique opportunity to leverage productive partnerships between these two diverse ecosystems. Is committed to promoting integrated care initiatives and improved quality of care and quality of life for consumers.

Sharon’s contributed to high level organizational performance achievement with a number of leading healthcare entities, in roles such as CEO of CareSource Michigan, Vice President of Government Programs & Privacy Officer for OmniCare Health Plan and Vice President of Medicaid Business Development at Coventry and Amerigroup.  Her ability to drive inter and intra organizational cross functional collaboration has supported profitable business growth and system-wide quality/compliance stability. She great effectiveness in administration of government funded healthcare administration, especially Medicaid & Medicare Special Needs Plans. Sharon has been actively engaged with leading industry organizations such as America’s Health Insurance Plans, National Association of Health Services Executives, and the Association of Community Affiliated Plans.

 

In 2013, Sharon founded Williams Jaxon Consulting, LLC to accelerate her  work in integrated care strategy development. Areas of expertise include business development, compliance administration, community and stakeholder relationship management, strategic planning, public policy advocacy, interpretation/implementation, proposal writing, network development/management and government relations.

Williams Jaxon Consulting, LLC clients have included organizations such as: Anthem/Wellpoint, Gorman Health Group, HighMark health plans, Evolent, Comprehensive Care Coordination of PA, Senior Resource Center, SE MI, Detroit Area Agency on Aging, Partners in Care Foundation,  National Council on Aging (NCOA) Aging Mastery Program, CareAdvisors, and HHS’ Administration for Community Living, etc. 

Additionally, Sharon leads myriad  business acumen training and strategic business initiatives for community based organizations. She has played an essential role with key national organizations to prepare them and their local leaders to build sustainable strategies that improve value and organizational capacity. Sharon developed and leads the NCOA Network Development Learning Collaborative.  She has been a leading contributor to the design of the Meals on Wheels national association’s annual Health Integration Institute and also created a series of health care business acumen webinars for the organization. She is a consultant with the National Association of Area Agencies on Aging (n4a); and works closely with leadership from the US Department of Health and Human Services’ Administration on Community Living. In 2019, she led the launch of the n4a/NCOA joint venture for a Medicare Advantage Learning Collaborative to provide CBOs with training to prepare for Medicare Advantage Plan contracting to address the new CHRONIC CARE Act’s Special Supplemental Benefits policies. Sharon also contributed to creation of the script for the NCOA’s Chronic Disease Self-Management marketing video which is used by CBOs around the country and was recently at an aging conference in Ireland.

Sharon is a committed community services activist and has served on Detroit area boards such as the Detroit Area Agency on Aging, YouthVille Detroit, the Guidance Center, City of Detroit Community Service Commission, Metro Parent Magazine Editorial Board, and the Ennis Center for Children. Sharon is a graduate of Michigan State University.
